moments of clarity caused by insomnia

weird, just can’t seem to sleep tonight. Don’t particularly have anything on my mind, yeah i’m working hard and have lots on but nothing thats stressing me out or that would keep me up.

Maybe it was those choc biscuits, do they contain too much sugar or something?

Moving on…

1st random thought, new toothpaste = no ulcers.

Why the bleedin heck didn’t i know this years ago?? A quick google found some evidence that sls (i think it was) may cause ulcers. I changed 2 weeks ago and haven’t had one since… Which for me, is unusual.

2nd random thought. What the hell is the point in written exams? When in real life are you sat in silence in a room, trying to recall info without access to your own data or google? Think about it. When?

Wouldn’t it be better to scrap them for more meaningful assessment of some kind?

3rd random rambling…

Work/life balance is overtaking financial incentives for most people. As jobs for life disappeared the companies are the ones who lost out by loyalty no longer being valued.

The employee response to this is that when a line is reached where the values of the company no longer match their own they look to leave.

Evidence for this is the increasing amount of effort organisations are putting into shouting about their charitable and green credentials. Its not advertising to customers as much as creating a corporate identity that appeals to employees, shareholders and maybe customers.

Hopefully that brain dump means i can sleep now. Ciao

presenting a new section…

I like making New Year resolutions, I keep most of them.. and they act as a good way of giving yourself a kick… as do Chinese new years resolutions… easter plans… birthday resolutions… and… um… Bonfire night bangers (aka resolutions)…

Well kinda.

ANYWAY…

Presenting the first of my new years resolutions:

1) A Year Without Plastic Bags

Basically, a year… without using plastic bags. I guess exactly how, will evolve as the year goes on.. its going to take practice and skill… having decided I wanted to do this next year, I promptly got a new bag from a shop without thinking… doh!

SO, to make it work, I’ll be donating £1 to charity everytime I use a new carrier bag.

The theory is, I don’t want to use them anymore… but its a habit. A clear goal makes it easier and hopefully by the end of the year… no more plastic bags.

important mysteries of the universe solved by the echo

No really, that hard hitting heavyweight of journalism that is the daily echo has an excellent article today… no not the “outrage” about BB guns being for sale… (god forbid any child who shoots at targets at a young age must turn out to be a master criminal and gangster… like i did)

The mystery of the lost shoe

lost shoe

poor litte shoe, how did it get there, well the echo reaches a shocking conclusion that proves once and for all the existence of extra-terrestrial beings… its proof of alien abduction.

Cool.

I can’t think of any other reason for mystery shoes, can you??

did virgin and sky kiss n make up?

its a happy day when you sit down to relax, skim through the channels and find that sky one, two and three are now back on virgin!

New simpsons!! Yes.

There was some sort of falling out between the two, frankly quite rude of them to deprive me off my simpsons fix, but now with no warning they’re back.

I really hope its not a glitch, that’d be mean.
