A street dog scavenges for food and very rarely die of starvation (rather illness, fighting, cars). Human intervention would have killed a dog - so of course there would be more outcry. However, as I live in the land of streetdogs I can say there is a lot of compassion around, just very little action to rectify the problem of them breeding.
