Day 6

Meh

Got quite a lot done, took stuff to the tip (which has been loitering for ages)… had an interview (which went well, although I think they need more of a database guy than I am)… spoke to a couple of recruitment people.

Failed to make time for day 6 (or is it 5?) of the 7 day subplan though.

Ajax is still down the list so no progress to report, arse.

Feeling quite “meh” about it all tbh - as I apply for jobs and talk to recruitment people I’m wondering if maybe I’m not such a good candidate?

I think I’ve got a lot to offer, a wide range of skills, experience and talents… how do I package it up into something that’s appealing? Maybe I’m too optimistic, I should get some basic call centre work whilst perfecting one particular skill… maybe I should just take all the cheesier gigs I’ve been offered or do some call centre temp role?

Meh. :-(

The good news is that the knee’s feeling stronger, swimming has really helped, ankles aren’t too bad and the feet are a bit better today.

Early night (read a bit of “life of Pi”) then a fresh head for tomo and hack back into the mini-plan and TaskFreak! (Amazing tool)

Overall… Meh.

day 5

win!

7 day sub-plan HTGMD + TaskFreak = AMAZING
- the timer option has changed my use of time beyond belief.

Watching a timer clock up to nearly an hour and a half under the heading “messing about online” (although some off that was for the show… its mainly lost time) really helped keep me on track.

Couple more jobs chased me, which is ncie.. including one who liked the comments on my portfolio site.

Feet not so good, the lower dose def. equals more pain in my toes. :-(

Had to cover a show on FIRE today (due to a snowboarding injury), so Ajax is waaaay behind target, thats ok, its still rolling.

Weekend - OFF

day 4

Win some, lose some.

On track with the main part of the plan, the 7 day organising myself clean up… moved everything (to-do list and time diary) into timefreak - awesome open source project man tool.

The aim for me in this part of the plan is keeping track of how long I spend on stuff more accurately than at present - taskfreak + timer plug-in - SCORE!!!

task freak me

Ajax - no progress, lower down the priority scale today.

Audio Bullys… lose. Impossible to sort out with their manager, pffft, few hours lost and a couple of phone calls. Ah well.

Flat stuff - win! All landlords have been served a section22 notice (I think thats the right one) - meaning the gutters and exterior will be sorted, finally!!!

This had been held up because of a sh#te managing agent, who we booted out after some legal fees… then flat 7 got repossessed so we couldn’t proceed till it was sold… which it now is, yay. This is a win because this causes the damp in my toilet (which is why it feels cold, sorry guests to dubyah towers!) AND once its sorted, I can put double glazing in at the back, double yay!!!

Health - mmmeeeeeh. Ankle hasn’t felt great today and the knee got stiff really quickly doing the show, bit worried I won’t be on good form for slinky gig next week.

Onward to tomo, plenty of time to catch up on stuff… chill out in evening, rest the joints… tidy the flat a bit…

Sat + Sun - fully booked, quality Lucy time :-)

Monday - Interview! Eeek… now how do I get to 3 legged cross…

day 3

Minor fail - a day of over-runs.

Got some work done this morning, had a meeting then spent ages on the phone to recruitment agencies - have interview monday though!

…then the bleedin’ Audio Bullys kept rescheduling, eventually doing a no show - after messing around at Fire for a couple of hours - although I did pick up my post from PO box and go through my promos.

Came home, made a curry watched Big Bang Theory, couple of phone calls - day gone :-(

Tomo, I have 2 chapters to do in both books, a few small tasks and a radio show.

Whilst today didn’t go according to plan… I was able to claw back some time from tomo so the 10 day plan is still rolling!

day 2 of 10

Going good so far, got a lot done, not quite as much Ajax as yesterday but had issues sorting out an interview I’m doing on the show on thursday (Audio Bullys!).

The job hunting, not going so well, doesn’t seem to be a lot around… the same jobs just keep getting re-posted (with skills i don’t have)… at the same time i’m being offered DJ wor left right n centre thast i don’t really want to do anymore - I want to focus on a few good q gigs, not lots of well played more commercial ones… life!

Really pleased with myself tonight, swam 64 lengths!!!! After 50 was hard, almost like swimming with just my arms, i’m 100% doing the swim this year, time to sign up n get the free red hat. :-)

Tomo:
- more Ajax
- Audio Bullys interview - wooo!
- check job sites (esp reed)
- chase managing agent
- chapter 3 of HTGMD

10 day plan doesn’t include sat + sun btw, need some time off and Lucy comes back then :-)

PS I’m loving my little badge plug-in I made :-)

Ajax book: 19 % completed
today's swim: 64 lengths
