steroid fun

“I’m on steroids and thinking of starting a career in baseball” – Woooooooooo! Haha…. erm ok…

Like I said on my show last night, the steroids are making a difference… I can almost see tendons again on my feet… the knees moving better. My joints still ache, but its upwards baby.

I might be imagining it but I feel more… erm… edgy? Certainly the show last night was a bit more savage than usual, with more energy… I find it harder to get to sleep and I’m always awake (properly awake) within 8 hours (I had found I needed 10hrs sleep)… I’m glad I’m on a gently reducing dose for the next 5 weeks… I have to take the dose first thing in the morning and its GO GO GO from then on! haha… ut oh, I hope I won’t be doing a Matthew Perry (or was that tramadol? been there done that anyway…)

…moving on…

Got a gig booked in for Easter Sunday, feel ready to start doing more stuff (like swimming – tuesdays 730 anyone?) – time to sit down and sort out exactly what’s important to me.

1x swim partner wanted

I need to start swimming once a week to get my fitness n strength back.

Anyone fancy a weekly swim?

I could go on my own, but I’d rather go with someone else, at least for the first few weeks.

Great opportunity for someone looking to get fit maybe… having someone else motivate you to go every week really keeps you going!

Answers on a courier pigeon… email… comment… txt… whatever, to the usual places.

at war with reiter’s syndrome

at war with reiter’s syndrome

This mornings visit to the specialist at poole hospital has meant I’m onto a new set of drugs. A reducing amount of steroids across 6 weeks, which, should… fingers crossed… set me straight… finally!

It’s been a long fought campaign… the initial salmonella, through the swollen n knackered joints and the seemingly disconnected symptoms… to this destroyer of all (hopefully)

the drug tank

For some reason, I’ve been chucking my empty drug boxes into a black hole next to my desk, I fished them out earlier and they seemed to fall into the shape of a tank.

(ok so maybe I moved them around a little after I got them out the black hole… honestly not much though)

Dread to think what that little machine o’ war cost me in charges!

giant eyes, great food and juno

giant eyes, great food and juno

A weekend in Nottingham was just what the doctor ordered… A romantic Valentines day, spent with Anne Savage @ Dogma was wicked :D , albeit slightly frustrating as I’d liked to of had a good stomp – she played an awesome set, even if she didn’t smile.

Friday, went to see Juno – cool film – more of a chick flick than I expected, very good **** (Cloverfield got a Luke ***** btw) then to La Tasca for an evening of Tapas… very yum, only disappointment was a poor quantity on the Chorizo in red wine, still… £10 for a load of tapas was pretty damned good! And the Chocolate Orange Cheescake rates as the BEST DESSERT EVER.

Saturday, took a spin in the Nottingham eye:

the eye in the square – random view with shadow – the lovely lucy – town hall thing (?) with Sherwood in distance!

Then an amazing chinese buffet all you can eat for a bargain £6.50! More dishes than I could ever stomach including Tepenyaki and other choose n cook options… best bit? All you can eat dessert counter included! I’d like to say I just ate a good selection of the fruit… there may of been the odd bit of jelly… a cookie or two… a couple of scoops of choc ice cream and some fruit… :-)

Home on sunday ready for the long awaited Rheumatologist appt at the hospital tomo… hopefully, the beginning of the end of this stupid illness… at least maybe anther Steroid jab to perk my joints up.
