pick a luke

I need your help… I’ve narrowed my choice of pictures for the book (about me) down to these 4… forget any imperfections (spots / light on glasses / background / color balance / contrast) - I’ll be tweaking the final one for use anyway.

PLEASE comment saying which picture you prefer and, if you want to, why.

kaiju craziness

haha - I love the original Godzilla films, where it was guys in monster suits trashing paper mache towns… genius old films, well worth watching for the bad dubbing and hilarious monster fight scenes…

Godzilla vs astro-monster

Now, there is “Kaiju Big Battel!” - WWE with men in monster suits AND paper mache buildings! Haha, excellent…

kaiju

Check out this video intro to a DVD of one of their events… COOOL! My fav is Kung Fu Chicken noodle monster :D

if this comes to the UK, i’m there! :-)

a February note to self

More silliness needed!

Sorry people, it’s all been a bit serious on here recently… with illness photos and religious musings/comment taking over aLUKEonLIFE I vow to inject more randomness for the year of the rat.

February is lining up to be an awesome month….

Health is loads better, most swelling has gone - mainly confined to the left knee - joints still feel weak but I’m moving loads better.

Feb 1st - Derren Brown’s new show ‘the system’ - bit sad.. but I’m a huge fan, the man is a genius.

Feb 2nd - Hed Kandi - be good to see a load of people I haven’t seen for ages who I know are going.
Feb 2nd - Groundhog Day! - updated

Feb 5th - Pancake day!!! Hmmmm pancakes…. anyone local fancy coming over? I always make too many. :-)

Feb 7th - Chinese New Year 4703 (year of the Rat) - firecrackers and a 6 legged dragon roaming my street, cool!

Feb 14th - Release the eBook upon the world!

Feb 14-17th - Visit the lovely Lucy in Notts, aaawwww, aren’t we cute? (bleurgh!)

I also put a couple of feelers out for jobs and have two opportunities to consider (Vs going for a day job) - failing those I’ll be polishing up the CV in the next week or two… look out world… here’s Johnny!

scientology vs anonymous part 2

A few websites went down (some still down), a couple of protests happened, some more videos went on youtube, a few news channels got on the story…

anonymous vs scientology

It’s kind of creepy, don’t you think? Like some bizarre film… an anonymous group with no leadership is taking on a money making cult that believes in an evil extra-terrestrial being called Xenu! I mean come on, you couldn’t make it up!!!

the next phase of the “war” has been declared as a series of peaceful protests on Feb 10th 2008 outside Scientology buildings around the world (inc 6 in the UK - not Poole).

If you were so inclined as to get involved, you may find information about the London meeting on the internets… …ahem (NSFW)…. Anonymous are encouraging all to join them in this protest…

i’m curious how many people will turn up globally and if the news networks run a story - seeing how they seem scared to do so, due to Scientologys litigious nature.

scientology vs anonymous

There’s a bit of a war going on in Cyberspace, that’s due to spill over into the real world.

A group called anonymous have decided to target Scientology - here is their declaration of war (for want of a better word)

If you’re at work and you can’t watch it, basically they are best described as a group of hackers; their main gripe is with the scientology organization and not its followers - their control over the media (via lawsuits), their suppression of information and the under reporting of questionable deaths associated with scientology.

they’ve already started by taking down numerous scientology websites, some reports suggest they’ve also been doing stupid things like ordering pizzas and constantly calling freephone numbers (to cost them money) but larger still, they have a series of direct action protests planned.

I admire their chosen cause, if not their methods.

Why should you need to pay to learn more about your chosen religion and to progress through its ranks?

How can a “religion” offer its field service managers commission on new converts, surely that makes it a business?

How can they justify their pursuit of genuine journalists who run stories or investigate them whilst at the same time, fund organisations called things like “Freedom of religion”? (Scientology vs BBC!)

This story has been featured on Wired and Sky News but not the BBC so far, I’m going to predict as it escalates (there are direct protests planned for early Feb) it’ll start to hit the news.

In my honest opinion, scientology is a dangerous money making organisation with questionable aims, motives and should not be recognized in any country as a religion - I intend to support the fight against them via legal means as suggested on xenu.net, for starters by linking scientology to their page giving them more rank on google.
