Halloween coolness

I’ve never really been into the whole Halloween thing, having been bought up in a Methodist family, we made lots of Bonfire Night instead – plus rockets are way cooler :-)

Check this out! How deliciously geeky but oh so cool is this deathstar pumpkin??

the Americans bought the nfl to London…

…and it got streaked! Hahaha :D

I suppose it was to be expected, props to the guy (although he loses a few points in my book by having a gambling sponsor written on his back) he had some good moves! What I most love about the clip is the audience reaction, he gets a massive cheer, everyone’s laughing and then the officials get boo’d for stopping him. Genius.

Streaking is ace, I’ve always thought its so pointless but brilliant at the same time… we kinda planned to do the UK lawn bowls tournament when it was in Bournemouth and I was a student… it was held on the road we lived in… quite tempting.. but we never did. :-(
(turns out it has been done)

Maybe one day you’ll see me streaking across some random sports event… would be a good thing to do once I reckon. :-)

oz approaches – fast

Eeek… its less than a week till my month long adventure to Oz + Thailand… still got loads to do – not least if I’m going to hit “target A”, be kinda sad if I don’t.

The good news is, I’m being remarkably well organised, so far… I’ve written and sent all the birthday cards due in the next month or so… and got all my passport/visas/jabs/insurance/bus travel etc. sorted!

I’ll have my laptop/webcam with me while I’m over there, so expect the odd (maybe video) update :-)

One of the other things I wanted to do was get on top of my email and add a few touches/upgrades to this blog. I’ve finished those now, so if you spot anything wonky, please let me know!

IMPORTANT NOTE ON EMAIL
Why I hadn’t swapped the “I’ll just stick a mailto: link in here and find a contact form plugin later” on the about me/contact page sooner, I don’t know… obvious source of inbox spam too… to this end, I’m retiring a couple of email addresses!! Dum, dum… duuuuuh! If you need to email me while I’m in Oz, OR you hear of any emails to me going missing/bouncing, send them to the contact form on this site please… ta!

Some quick words of wisdom from south park…

(The episode where the school gets a TV station and the Sexy Action School News team keep losing the fight for ratings despite increasingly over sensationalising every story….)

Jimmy – but we’re dumbing down the school news Eric
Cartman – the schools already dumb, we’re just giving them what they want

So sad, but so true

and this..

Thought for the day –

“You are the average of the five people, you spend the most time with” Hmmm…

control

I’m writing this from my mobile on a bus into london, headed to my gig tonight.

The journey started as normal.. Apart from the driver sticking on ratatouie, an unexpected bonus.. When i looked out the window i realised we were way off route and i had no idea where we were, for some reason i found it hard not to think thoughts like, ‘what if i’m on the wrong bus’.. ‘what if the drivers going the wrong way and noones told him, should i ask?’..

Why couldn’t i just accept the driver was taking a big devour to avoid heavy traffic on M3 (which is the only logical conclusion).

Does this make me a control freak??

The feeling of being stuck on a bus, with no idea where it was i found really unsettling, silly really. On the plus side, when the film finished (thumbs up btw) i remembered i had some ear plugs in my record bag to lessen the noise from other passengers :-)

halloween crime at flat 9

Yes, I have a crime to confess.. well… maybe…

The flatmate is well… not a fan of spiders shall we say… so when I spotted a nice sized specimen, I thought it’d be Halloween like humour to catch it in a plastic cup and place it in her food cupboard, so when she opened it… GAAAAA! Spider!!

1 problem

When she opened the cupboard… there was no spider in the cup.

Ooops

So now, there is a spider somewhere in her cupboard waiting to jump out n get her… hahaha.

SORRY CARLA
