all my childhood dreams coming true!

Not only is the Transformers live action movie coming out next week (as near as damnit fulfilling my childhood “wouldn’t it be cool if transformers were real…” dream) but LucasArts confirmed yesterday that they are making a lightsaber based game for the Wii.

Oh yes!

lightsaber duel

They’ve not specified if its going to be based in the normal or Lego Star wars format (who cares, lego star wars rocks anyway!) but they have confirmed its in development.

Cue millions of ahem… lets be honest… young men… standing around in their living room weilding the Wiimote like their favourite star wars character.

If this is even half as good as I have in my head, I’m buying one.

In other geekery news, I’ve bought an MP3 player with line in, so it’s easier for me to record my DJ sets :D

pier to pier swim and general life update

Swam 120 lengths yesterday, a cool 3km or 1.875 miles… not bad eh? Although I managed to do near on nothing the rest of the day and still felt a bit tired today!

Been working on a new n improved life plan this week, I’ve been drifting along a bit the last month or so, had a few things to work through in my head, but thats sorted now… time to step up!

I’ve been changing the way I do things as well, on the theory that my processes weren’t working, so they need changing!

Rewritten my goals and I’m putting them into a timetable to split my time up to acheive these things, I had a rough system like that before (thursdays were music days for example).

Set goals
Make the plan
Sort out time managment
Review processes
Step up!

dear facebookers - social network overload

I’m getting about 1 invite a day to facebook at the moment and in line with my attempts to reduce the time i waste online i’ve decided i won’t be signing up.

It doesn’t mean i don’t want to be your friend it just means i’m social networked out! (same applies to bebo, friendster, tagged and all the other ones!)

The time factor being the main reason, plus the fact you can find me on:
linkedin (a business social network, link on the right)…
For photos i’m on dontstayin (and general clubbing stuff)
and for music i’m on myspace.

Oh yeah i forgot a few… i’m on youtube, blogger, friendsreunited..

Not to mention msn, yahoo and fring for im… Add to this my mobile, countless email accounts, skype..

My blog.. personal website, polysonic, positive link and others.. Enough already!

I’ll update all these to links when i’m next on my pc (geek i know, i’m blogging on my mobile). The worlds gone social network mad!

I laugh about it now

but at the time, it was a bit freaky… whilst sorting out some paperwork I found these things that a loopy ex-girlfriend sent me in the post (tbh I don’t know for sure but I’m 99.9% certain I know who)

I present them here for your amusement:

“dogs have a master, cats have slaves” (blank inside card rec’d in envelope 2)
envelope 1, post mark Bristol, blue ink

envelope 2, post mark Bournemouth, green ink
photo of cat with sticker attached “what’s that smell?” (rec’d in envelope 1)

lined note paper with 1x sticker “keep yer nose out” and 1x sticker of a menacing black cat
envelope 3, post marked North East, purple ink

cat stalker mail

as for why… I dunno… what they hoped to acheive… I dunno… you gotta laugh though. :D

the effect of rain

For some reason the wettest bike club so far… attracted the most people. How does that work??

7 brave souls squared up to the elements for a trundle to the darkest corner of hengistbury head n back.

Same time next week peeps BUT with a slight venue change, we’ll meet near Bournemouth Pier at 645.

Looking at the pics on the telly, I’m feeling lucky we escaped the worst of the rain. I’ve seen plenty of flood water as a kid growing up in Hereford, so my thoughts are with those people with houses now under water or stuck away from home.

Reading the “have your say” on BBC was interesting…. it seemed mainly to consist of name calling, psuedo scientific theories and “i’m alright jacks”.

Global warming kept popping up in the discussion with ignorance like “It makes no sense that hosepipe bans were blamed on global warming, now the torrential rains are too” - er yes, dumbass its called climate change… global warming doesn’t mean it’ll just get hotter n sunnier. :)

I find it amazing the amount of people who still don’t believe in global warming, what exactly will it take to convince these people?

I’d love to hear from any of you who’re unconvinced it’s real.
