Tornados?

What?? …Did I miss something???

Since when were tornados and twisters a feature of UK weather??

They’ve even issued a Tornado warning… we have a Tornado warning centre???

Am I losing the plot or until last year… had there been like ZERO tornado/twister things in the UK?

UK Twister

It’s ok kids, remember, George Bush says the planet is fine… Carbon Emissions are NOT a problem and Global Warming certainly isn’t real…

spamdula

This post is me, using a lateral thinking technique called Po (meaning a form of provocation, to stimulate thought).. check out the book list for Lateral Thinking (if it’s not there, I’ll add it soon)

One of my current jobs involves analysing emails captured (both correctly and incorrectly) in a spam filter.

It amazes me that spam continues to be an issue… it’s frustrating because it really shouldn’t be a problem; if no-one bought generic drugs/fake degrees/random stocks etc from these spammers… they wouldn’t bother selling them any more – which means the main problem is people being stupid enough to actually buy things from these crooks!

Why would you do that? How much confidence would you have in a generic drug that came from an unknown emailer? I wouldn’t!

Why on earth would you invest in a stock, just because you received an email telling you to do so? Jeeebus, are there really people that idiotic in the world?

It’s the same with these Nigeria scams where they give you some protracted story about a member of the former regime, with funds they need to transfer… bla bla bla… pay a fee for the transfer for thousands of pounds and you’ll get millions – who is DUMB enough to fall for these? They are out there… maybe we shouldn’t warn people about these anymore.. Fundamentally, are we degrading the human race by not allowing natural selection to take its course on the genetic pool?

Hell lets go a step further… no more warnings on bags of peanuts “may contain nuts” if you don’t realise it contains nuts, how the hell are you clever enough to survive in the modern world!!

Perhaps we could solve a lot of problems in the world, if we stopped trying to interfere with natural selection?

the extra mile

Fffffffff

I’ve realised today that I’m in danger of burn out, I’ve been pushing extra hard these last couple of months to make real lasting change in my life… and… whilst it is really starting to take shape, I need to make some more changes to re-balance a few things so I can survive that last extra mile:

1: time with friends and family
I’ve been pretty crap recently, if you haven’t been at one of my gigs or out on one of my rare nights off - chances are you’ve not seen me for a while. Sorry.

2: no more design work
It’s been hard fitting in a day job, design work, coaching stuff, the radio show and my gigs. So, I’ve decided I’m not doing any more design work.

Financially, I’ve turned the corner now with the mess I was in (thanks in part to the on-going flat RTM issues) - I have more coming in than going out now, woooo!

It’s time to increase my focus on longer term goals, if jobs come up that are financially ridiculous to turn down then obviously I’ll take it… if you have a site hosted by me already, it’s going no-where I’ll still maintain it as required, don’t worry.

3: clutter
I’m drowning in clutter! If you combine the lack of storage in this flat with my in-ability to throw things away… you get clutter.

All those little projects… bits for ebay… a box of car boot stuff (its a long way to the summer Luke!).. are headed for the Samaritans shop up the road.

Filing - I’ve kept everything for years, for gods sake, do I need nearly 10 years of orange phone bills? PAYE slips from when I was a student? Nope…. shred shred… bye bye!!

4: culture
Last week I attended bomo-creatives, a group who’s aim is to move Bournemouth away from the cultural desert - originally i went out of curiosity with my friend (and talented artist) but now I have an idea for combining 2 ideas I’ve had lingering… watch this space!

Aaaahhhhhhhhh!!! I’ve got my raaaaaa back!!! Hooray for blogging as therapy!

In other news - Stu’s bday on Fri (playing at Toko) and Maison 9th Birthday - this weekend should be good… not forgetting my sister is down with her new fella who I haven’t met yet… dum dum duuuh!

essential party fashion for 2007

What a beauty of a weekend! Toko, got going late… rocked till they dropped…. Hed Kandi, usual rammer-jammer mayhem… then… well… the cherry on the cake…

luke dubyah essential party accessories

erm… what can I add to explain.. that??

You see I was invited to a legendary party at the weekend, at some point just before leaving I decided to dress up and take as many accessories as I could (2 hats, scarf and leo the lizard) for no real reason.

Quite frankly it’s a hard life… turning up to glamourous parties with 3 lovely ladies, a bottle of jack and a 3ft plastic lizard. (”hi, would you like to stroke my lizard..”)

For the record, all good parties should include the following:

- decent tunes on a decent system
- Jack Daniels + Tequila
- 3ft long plastic lizards
- smoke machine
- selection of comedy hats
- more lovely ladies than men
- samosas
- lap dancing pole
- rubber chicken
- jacuzzi and/or hot tub

Life rocks!!

as hannibal would say

hannibal the a-team…I love it when a plan comes together!

You see, a lot of “the plan” is starting to fall into place now…

for a while there I started to lose faith (mid summer roughly)

All the pieces are starting to come together, the funds are correcting themselves…

the property dream is looking more possible…

the bits of Positive Link are starting to add up…

WOOOOOooooooo!!!!!

Bring it, baby!
