the last Slinky at the Opera House

Wow. Last night was everything I loved about the Opera House (and Slinky), an unbelievable atmosphere… watch this n tell me the hairs don’t rise up on the back of your neck!

The clip would of been perfect if Graham Gold hadn’t spoken… never mind… what a night… Farewell my friend. :-(

the best inventions

…come to those who wait?

…nope thats not right… (scratches head, looks around in sleep deprived bewilderment)
…whatever… I invented the BEST drink ever!!

I hereby patent it on an open source model for all to use:

“Frui-tea”

1) Make half a cup of earl grey tea (1 tsp sugar - mainly because I started making a cup of tea, then kinda changed my mind)
2) Add cranberry and raspberry juice!

WINNER!

Or is that just fruit tea? No wait that comes in tea bags, so its not the same… is it?

Try it… it’s mighty frui-tea tasty!

In other productive news… the new look n feel positivelink is almost done, just need to upload the new content (its using old blog posts for now) - have a look, let me know what you think.

PS for the fellow geeks, the site includes some heavily hacked PHP, is fully XHTML compliant, all navigation items are pure CSS and includes no nasty javascript!… not bad eh? MAC users, working ok? Sadly there is 1 bug in IE7, which I’m working on.

Damned Bloggers!

damn those pesky bloggers, they get everywhere!

Introducing a quickly built blog for 2 friends of mine “what we did on sunday

Apparently it’ll will be a:

“cultural exploration of individual search for meaning on sundays, utilising the experience of two contrasting contributors as a post-modern reference…”

Actually, I just made that up… it’s going to be, quite simply a journal of stuff people do on sundays…

look at me, all adult and everyfink!

Scary stuff… this time next week I’ll be the Director of a company!

Now that’s proper grow’d up!

Funniest thing is, I’ll be director of another company by this time next year if all goes to plan!!!

In summary, my current work status is…

- Self-employed for Radio + Club DJ earnings, internet consultancy and life coaching
- Employed as a temporary contractor for IT stuff
- Director of an RTM company (and 12.5% shareholder)

So… erm… when I meet my dream woman…

…what the hell do I say I do for a job???

2) Release an EP on a digital label
3) Australia for a month (Nov-ish)
4) Snog Cat Deeley / Jennifer Anniston or Jessica Alba (hmmmm)
5) Buy freehold for this place - RTM company papers signed… on track!
6) Buy another flat - this is a biggy, people keep telling me it can’t be done… damn you now I MUST make it happen!
7) Complete Master Practitioner NLP course (£2k… yikes)
8) London to Brighton bike ride - Mr M did it last year… I’m with you this year chap! (June?)
9) Go to a football/rugby match - weird eh? Never been to one
10) make Positive Link my full time job (re-launch comin soon!)
ok maybe one of those is a bit silly… why would I go to a sports match? Hahaha

Born stupid?

born stupid

I met this slightly odd philosophical guy once, he really believed that because he studied philosophy he was superior to others, not intentionally in a conscious or bad way, but I’m sure he thought it…

The point of this drivel is… he asked me what my favourite quote was, he seemed suprised when I didn’t hesitate to say “Born stupid? Try again”. It’s not by someone famous, in fact, it’s just something I picked up years ago as a flyer for an internet company in the dot com boom days… and yes, they are bust now).

I love it! So much so I framed it and it sits on my desk, it’s everything I believe in 4 words!

It means so much to me:

Things happen, it’s how you deal with it that matters.
Choose to take control of your life.
and Keep on truckin’!!

One thing I have found though (when it’s been re-located to a place of work) - some people just don’t get it!?

What?

Seriously, I’ve had people ask me what it means, usually by people who are “happy” living their lives, ticking along and not pushing forwards. Feck that for a game of cricket! I want more!!!
Well, it works for me.

Hope y’all had a groovy weekend.
