I’m sorry, Luke won’t be writing on his blog for a while as he’s going to be offline till at least monday night… and even then he’s got a ridiculous amount on so may be unavailable for a whole week!!!
You see, as well as working 9-5 all week, on Tuesday I’m at a big meeting at work with the whole team offsite… which no-one knows what its about… hmmm…

Thursday show as usual…
Launching EMPIRE club in Bournemouth LIVE on FIRE 107.6 next friday – PM/Email/Txt for VIP tickets people…

Saturday, Fingerlickin @ freshers ball, the BIC Bournemouth & Tribal Sessions LIVE with Booka Shade @ Opera House later on!

When I grow up, I want to be…

a hobo! (aka wineo, bum, drunk)
No really!!!

The life of a hobo, as witnessed by me:

Picture the scene as I skip to work through the delightful horseshoe common… the wind blowing gently through my hair… with squirrels scuttling around burying their nuts for winter… the birds singing their morning melodies… I see the wineos awakening, stumbling… bleary early eyed of a morning…

Then at lunch time, as I stroll home I see these colorful characters looking happy, greeting each other and sharing a bottle of sherry (honestly, they seem to all drink sherry?!)…

and then, once more through the park I travel in the evening, on my way home… to see these happy-go-lucky (muttering-go-smelly more like…) fellows (and ladies) enjoying a gentle slumber amidst the grass… the benches… the bushes… and even on the path… ah how I envy the simplicity of their daily routine…

How good does this sound!?

1) Get up, when you wake up, every day being a suprise – “which bloody bush is this?”
2) Stumble around a bit, scrape/beg (steal?) together enough money to buy sherry… hardly taxing…
3) Meet up with all your mates for a good ol’ chat in the park
4) Consume Sherry till you pass out

No stress, no worries, no hassle (no liver)

Lucky buggers…

“If all the world were insane, and you my friend were the only true sane man, how would you appear unto the world?”

WANTED – 1 groovy flatmate

Today is good news and bad.

Becky (my flatmate) and her gerbil (Alex) have had their offer accepted on a very cool little flat, which is wicked news for them… but sadly means that I now need to find someone who wants to rent my spare room.

Previously when I needed a new lodger I asked too late… and after I’d struggled a bit I found someone… and then I had loads of calls saying “are you still looking for a lodger?”.. so, whilst I’ve nto actually got a months notice, they are in the enviable position of being in a chain of 1 so it’s not likely to take too long…

Always the way isn’t it… I’ve been asked a few times recently if I know of any rooms, then when I have one… tumbleweed

The Room:

…close to town centre, generous double room, share of kitchen, lounge, bathroom, toilet and big hall (it has 3 bikes in at present)… furnished or not… up to you… wireless broadband + NTL cable tv… off road parking (share of)… cool as chips landlord who is reasonably housetrained and likes to cook… very affordable all-inclusive rates…

Nice groovy people only please!

Hengistbury Head to Sandbanks

wow… I just went for a breathtaking ride along the beach…

Brownsea Island

I rode from my flat to the pier, then to the eastern end of the beach at hengistbury head…

Hengistbury Head (this photo is from hengistbury head facing west towards sandbanks)

then back via the pier along the beach to Sandbanks at the far western end of the beach…

Sandbanks (this photo was taken at sandbanks facing east towards Hengistbury Head (headland in distance)

Then across to the other side of sandbanks for a stunning view across Poole Harbour to Brownsea Island

Brownsea Island and Poole Harbour (wow… image that as a view from your flat… now I see why the flats round here cost so much!)

Then back to Bournemouth Pier and home..

Bournemouth Pier (Bournemouth Pier view across to the purbecks and old harry’s rocks)

Time taken – 1hr5mins… WINNER! The fitness regime’s definately starting to kick in… that Pier to Pier swim next year isn’t looking so impossible now…

coach… coach thyself!

This week, I’m going to use one of the techniques that I often use with clients on myself… a time diary.

It hit me that I need to keep a time diary when I entertained (I still am actually) the idea of hiring a cleaner to help me keep on top of the flat! My time is decreasing… so I started to weigh up wether my time n money is more effectively spent by hiring someone to get this flat back up to scratch… It takes me AGES and I’m not good at it! …hmmm…

How does a Time Diary work anyway? In 15min chunks I’m going to note down, what I spend my time on so I can total up my time and analyse it the way I would if it was someone elses life. Then it got me thinking…

Why the flippin heck, do I not coach myself more often!?

I have a great number of tools that I could use to sort my own life out more effectively but I don’t use them all… or do I?

It’s not easy to coach yourself, to analyse your own situation objectively and work out what to do next… that was one of the original ideas behind this blog… to be able to write things n then come back to it as a third party.

Anyway, onwards to an exciting time ahead.. but apologies in advance if I seem to vanish of the planet for the next 2 weeks or so… what with the new job… then fri-mon I’m at an event in London to see some motivational speakers (big thanks to everyone who chipped in)… 2 radio shows then a club launch on the friday (LIVE on FIRE 10-1), then spinning tunes with Fingerlickin at the BIC for the freshers ball AND at the opera house with Booka Shade!!

It’s a conspiracy I tell you!

911? UFO cover ups? a New World Order? The Cat People of Alpha Centuri? The price of Stamps???

No.

People conspiring against me to make me go out!

I’m rubbish at staying in on my own! I tried… but there was no good films on tv… and then a mate who wanted to catch up over a quiet beer… seemed like a good idea… nothing hectic I though to myself…

It’d been a battle all day with people trying to persuade me to go out this weekend… I kept saying no, but damn it… they kept up the pressure…

well… you know… I started a new job this week… one beer to catch up n unwind won’t hurt will it? I’ll be home by 10… whats a single guy to do? Stay in on his own n surf the net all night…?
Hmmmm…

In my weak-willed defence, there is a whole tempting world of clubs n things right on my doorstep (sometimes literally ON my doorstep…)

so one drink in Bar Fruit (hmmm vodka) turned into one more at Label… which somehow I got talked into sharing 5 corona for a tenner… ut oh…

Then 2 friends appeared who were out with some of the people I’d said I wasn’t going out to… now I’m out… and I’ve told people I was staying in… it’d be rude not to…

So a couple of coronas later I find myself… god help me… not that I believe in any particular god, but its a good saying… I’m in bar med…

..not long after I arrive, I’m made to neck my drink because we’re going to meet some people in Censo… so in we trundle to Censo… couple of drinks later it seems like a good idea to go to Toko to see my mate James who’s playing tunes…

Next thing I know, I’ve been dancin’ (I mean REALLY dancin’) like a pogo legged loon and its 6am… nice “quiet” night in Luke, well done.

Hmmm

I reckon it was all a conspiracy… the “quiet” beer… the guilt trips… the “oh we’ve got to go so finish your drink”… the free drinks… the free entry…

Nah, I just had some dinner n though feck it, I fancy going out!

Well.. I’m allowed to change my mind sometimes aint I?

Apologies to anyone I’d said I wasn’t going out to… and then did… it wasn’t planned! Anyone got any paracetamol?
