press release…?

It’s hard being me… your life constantly in the media spotlight… you feel the need to announce your every move with a press release… hahaha

well, I dunno…

…anyways, I thought I’d share with y’all the next phase in my life plan:

I’m returning to the world of work… dum dum duuuuuhhh!

There is a number of reasons for this:

1) I want to buy another flat, doing so on my self emplyed earnings doesn’t make financial sense, think of an interest rate, then add at least 1%…

2) I’m focussing my music on the podcast/show and quality not quantity of gigs, gigs out of the area (and/or country), making tunes and remixes (which doesn’t earn money upfront) - this means I’ll enjoy the gigs I do more and make better progress.

3) I’ve emptied my bank accounts trying to “exercise my right to manage” thanks to having an entirely incompetent managing agent, who won’t go voluntarily… plus I’ll need more funds when we actually manage to buy the freehold for the block.

4) I like to get more experience training and managing people… one day positive link, will be a training company (3/5 years?).

5) I don’t want to be a geek, web coding full time, isn’t for me… setting up podcasts + blogs… nice little sideline though.

6) The goals I have, (positive link > training company // writing a book // releasing a record // moving house) don’t earn me money at this stage in the plan!

so if you want a laugh at my creative CV writing… are a nosey sod… or want to offer me a job… check out my latest (yes another) website!

patience

Such a weird old animal.

The same person can be ultra-chilled in one situation the tiniest thing happens and SNAP they’ve lost it.

The absuridity of it all struck me today, I was doing fine… the day was setting itself up nicely and then SNAP… I couldn’t get my toast out of the toaster.

Damn thing, it popped up but the bread got mangled and jammed inbetween the lifty-uppy thing and the sides. No amount of persuasion would make it come out, now why did the hell did this bug me so much?

Needless to say, in the end I pulled it out in chunks, buttered it and ate it… to prove to myself that I’d beaten the toaster… even though, actually, if I’m honest the toaster won this round…

I think most people would say that I am one of the most patient people in the world, but certain things really push my buttons sometimes… I must work out why!

One thing that can, is best summed up by one of my favourite sayings:

“Organising people is like herding cats”

There’s nothing worse than trying to prepare for a big gig (or get to it) with a million people leaving their weekend plans to the last second, I really don’t mind… but please dont expect long conversations 15mins before I’m on air… or leaving the house to DJ somewhere.

If you must ask questions, that are, frankly idiotic… at least try n find the answers elsewhere first! Here, dontstayin or myspace would do the job most times.

Apologies for getting out of the wrong side of bed today, I’m rectifying it by venting (here) and having a nice earl grey (no milk of course).

PEACE!

Friday randomness…

It’s not very often, in fact ever, I send on email fwd random crap… but sometimes… just sometimes, there is one worth sharing with the world, in an appropriate manner…

Fluffy

Possibly the only creature EVER to be both cute and scary…. apart from gremlins… but they’re not real.

da blog pimp?

I think I’m a blog pimp!

Welcome to the world of blogging: LittleMissMateo for those of you who don’t know her she’s currently in New Zealand on another one of her intercontinental magical mystery tours.

This got me thinking about all the sites I’d built, thinking it’s only a few… LittleMissMateo.com is the 12th blog I’ve built/skinned… crikey, how did that happen? That’s one a month(ish) as this site is only just over a year old!!!!

When I started this blog I knew of 1 other person who had a blog: TheShaneLife now look at it.

What have I done??? Hahahaha

Spring Music Festival

Finally something a bit different in Bournemouth clubland…

The Spring Music Festival

The Bank Holiday Spring Music Festival (Sat May 28th - 2pm-3am) is taking place for the first time in 2006 with a collaboration between three of the leading venues in Bournemouth’s live music scene, the Gander, O’Neills and the Old Fire Station.

All these venues are within a drum stick’s throw of each other in the Lansdowne area, at the top end of town.

The idea is dead simple, buying a ticket will get you a funky wrist band which will enable you to wander around any of the venues throughout the night - giving everyone a chance to check out as many cracking bands as they want.

Each of the venues will have a different flavour for the festival. The Gander will capitalise on their intimate surroundings to stage the finest blues rock and psychobilly.

The Old Fire Station takes advantage of its large stage, bringing together the cream of the local talent to support a stunning selection of the fastest rising bands in the UK.

I’m honoured to be playing a 2manygenres set at the largest of these 3 venues (1-2am), I have a few VIP tickets that get you a wristband for all 3 venues, if you want one, drop me a line.
