Important Announcement

I’m going to be moving this website to a different server during this week, so, if it all goes a bit weird… don’t panic!

In the meantime… this site will still be available directly on polysonic

My current hosting runs out soon and I have a shiny new groovy hosting account to use… unlimited domains, space and bandwidth! (need cheap hosting anyone??)

Not only am I going to move to a new server, I’ll also be making a few upgrades and minor design make-over. Mostly it’s going to be behind the scenes, as I upgrade to wordpress 2.0

Normal service should be resumed shortly!

My name is Earl

Geeeenius show.

If you’ve not seen it yet, E4 1030pm and um… ch4 fridays? Something like that…

It’s about a guy who’s a bit of a lowlife… wins the lottery, looses his ticket… discovers the idea of Karma and so decides it’s his fault that he didn’t get the winnings.

So to rectify his Karma, he sets out a list of all the bad things he’s done and tries to set things right.

Straight away he gets his winning ticket back by luck and thats it, he’s off on his karmic mission!

WATCH IT…. wooop wooop!

hmmm… I reckon my Karmic balance is in credit.. must be due some good stuff soon, damn it!

Google in China

Its not often I feel sorry for big companies, but I feel sorry for Google.

They have to implement filters on their search engines for any users in China, to meet the Chinese Governments censorship program for the internet.

Whilst most people would agree it is wrong to censor people’s access to information, what were Google supposed to do?

They are owned by share holders, who demand that their stocks grow, to ignore the largest emerging (and soon to be largest full stop) market is commercial suicide…

The free speech activists are crying out at Google for bowing to Chinese demands to filter certain sites and words, sure they could of taken a moral decision… but then what? Lose out to someone who didn’t?

I value people who to stick to their principles, but sometimes you have to do things against your moral judgement for some other purpose, to not do so is to not live in the real world.

Life would sure be easier if we all had an identical set of beliefs, but we don’t.

Oh no… the council have decided (without giving any reason) to evict the fruit guy from the square. :(

I’ll turn into a fat unhealthy bloater if he goes!

Should you happen to be passing the square, please take 2 secs and sign his petition… please.
(Or if you can’t be arsed, leave your name and addr. in a comment here)

Damned council… Hotdog vendor, fine… fruit stall, bye bye… pah… Healthy eating mean nothing???
