PODCASTING!!!!

Woooooooooooo…………

Well here it is, I’ve moved up another level of geekdom.

All my mixes on polysonic will now be available as a podcast feed!!!

polysonic podcast feed

For those of you wondering what the bleedin’ heck I’m on about…

podcasting

Basically, if you’ve got an MP3 player (ipod, walkman phone… whatever…) you can now get the latest mixes automatically onto your pc/phone/mp3 player using a bit of software called a “podcatcher” (or any RSS aggregator).

For example… If you own an ipod and you use itunes… just “subscribe” to the feed above and voila!

Hire Cars

Might seem like a strange one, but for me, I quite like having hire cars!

Especially when you get the model up from the one you paid for… brum, brum! :D

toyota corolla

It’s weird really, I don’t need a car… so I don’t own one, yeah sure a hire car is more expensive, but over the long run I’ve saved a mint ditching my car 3 years ago… and its not just the cashola:

1) I’m sure my health is better, as I walk a lot more.

2) I think more about what I eat, as carrying it from the supermarket could be a pain… made easier by going to local fruit n veg man (tastier too!).

3) When I do have a car, it comes with no hassles of maintainence and all the enjoyment of driving a new car.

4) You bump into more people, sound a bit silly? Nope, I’ve gained gigs and design work this way… kind of like a networking bonus!

Anyway, back to rebuilding my laptop :( although… yay for backups! :)

the future

It’s official (well its not really, but I’ve decided it is) we now live in “the future”!!!

Think about it.

In Jan it will be 2006, two THOUSAND and six… which means in 4 years, its 2010. Feck!

Foldable, rollable flexible displays are here - Currently around the size of a newspaper, these displays are now a reality, the best bit being that once they’re set to display a page (future newspaper?) it doesn’t require more electricity, it stays in that state… cooool.

flexible plastic display

Not sci-fi enough?

The Japanese have invented see through fabric, its still a prototype at the moment but the video freaked me right out! It works by having cameras that see whats on the opposite side and displaying that on the front, you could make out outlines but its still scary stuff.

Still not convinced? (more…)

#4

The first (although its not #1.. not sure why, just seemed better to do them in a random order) in a series of “things that make me happy”… for no reason, other than a secret experiment I’m conducting… oops said too much…

Feeling hungry… peruse the fridge to find a blackcurrant jelly I forgot I’d made - yum!

controversial theory

Something about the “murder” of Peter Falconio, doesn’t quite add up to me.

“Oh, here he goes again…” yeah, yeah..

1. There seems to be no evidence, apart from Joanne Lees account of events.
2. We know she lied about having an affair while they were both in Sydney.
3. Her body language in interviews always displays clear intention to deceive signals, watch her body language when she’s asked questions. Sometimes shes cool as a cucumber, other times she has a really odd nervous cough
4. Peter Falconio has been spotted twice, by fairly reliable eye witnesses, after he was supposedly killed.

I reckon, either she was involved in killing him or he dis-appeared after they had an argument and for reasons known only to her, she’s not saying.

Its odd because, you only see bits of it and obviously there might be things I’ve not seen (I’m hardly studying the case) there is this one thing that I do have, my instincts tell me she is dishonest about the events - watch her see what you think.

Instincts are a weird old animal. I used to always try and think conciously about things to make decisions, now I listen more to my instincts because I understand more about them. Its your sub-concious telling you something, interpreting it can be hard as you have to think if its logical or some weird stereotype assumption you’re making.

Now I’m using both bits together, I think I feel like I’m getting wiser in my old age!

200

Well here it is… the 200th post on aLUKEonLIFE… so I thought I’d better do something a bit special:

2manygenres2
2manygenres2

Luke Dubyah - 2manygenres2 “Funk, Filth and Frank”

Let me know what you think, I recorded it live in 1 take at the FIRE 107.6 studios last night.

If you heard the original 2manygenres then you’ll know what to expect… an eclectic hectic mix of tunes I love.. from the funky to the down right dirty, with some unusual remixes thrown in for good measure.

PS this is also in honour of polysonic being back online… full set of mixes will be back up soon, promise

Once you’ve heard it (so as not to spoil any suprises!) here’s the track listing… (more…)
