spam war… pt2

So his site went down for a day… and then re-located on another host. Doh.

Not too be outdone, it took a whole 20secs to send a duplicate email with the same spam evidence in it to his new ISP. (although longer to type this update!)

Hmmm… wonder how long this will go on for? Maybe I should just leave it.

Nah, that wouldn’t be me really would it….

UPDATE: Woohoo! Shut down… but wait… no suprise, he moved again… not giving it up yet…

If you think I’m wasting my time, this guy has comment spam on 688 blogs (cheers google) thats the ones that didn’t catch it… assuming the same amount dealt with his spam as left it… 5mins per person wasted on 688 blogs is um… about 58 hours of wasted time thanks to this guy.. so if it takes me about oooh, 10mins so far… then I’ll carry on.

inspiration – never where you expect it

I sat down, I had things to do… like a tax return, yikes… sort out the flat… maybe some work… loads of other things on my mind… and had an idea for a tune.

A day later its mostly finished and I’m really happy with it.

Always the bleedin’ way though isn’t it?

Some writers and artists, say that you just have to keep making/writing/painting and work on it until something comes out… I’ve tried that with tunes, it never works. My hard drive is full of part written tunes, from times when I’ve sat down to write but not felt inspired.

How do I balance up, all the things I want to do when now and again inspiration pops up and I find it hard to do anything else? I guess I just accept thats how it happens, do it, and hope I don’t fall behind with anything else.

Hmmm… bit of a note to self today, sorry.

spam war… pt1

As some of you know, or maybe not, I look after a number of blog sites: commercial, personal and miscellaneous (ie djweatherman.com)

There is a persistent comment spammer who keeps appearing in the blocked comment list of most of these sites, I have done a bit of research and located the originators details… so I’ve sent his ISP an Email, asking that his domain be suspended…

Wonder what’ll happen??? (fingers crossed)

UPDATE: “We have temporarily suspended the site in question, while we investigate further and await a response from our client.” ooooh.. looks promising…

christmas things

Well, I had a pretty good christmas, some good bits, some not so… but the highlight for me?

Getting back to my mum’s house to find a box of transformers! Woooooo!

transformers - robots in disguise!

Now, I looked for these about 5 years ago and had assumed they were all in a charity shop or landfill… to discover them all, pretty much intact was muchos chulo! (I only bought 2 back to Bournemouth as I came back on the train though)

Sorry the pics a bit blurry, its a phone pic and I’m badly in need of a new phone… hmmm… happy christmas to me soon. :)

Transformers aside it was good to see all the relations, made me feel old though. My youngest cousin and his other half are expecting a baby in march – another gets married in June… a third was away with her other half… and I’m… well… umm… I have 2 marriage proposals to consider…

1) Shane seems to want to move to the UK (why???), through some form of sham gay marriage… sorry I mean “civil partnership” – Shane i told you before, if we’re doing this, I’m moving to San Fran!

2) Miss Bish …ok, actually i proposed to her, kind of… well in a pub… after a few pints of cider… she’s up for going to vegas to get married by Elvis… worrying how this idea keeps cropping up… god help me if I ever ACTUALLY go to Vegas!!!

Enough ramblings for today… onwards to the New Year… whatever that brings…
