I’m Worth…

Ever sat down n worked out what your net worth is?

If you sold up everything and paid off your debts…

I did: £41,000 – WINNER!

Well, it’s not quite the millions I need to take over the world, but it made me smile a bit.

I also worked out what my time is worth and realised I’ve been whoreing myself out well below that!

This all stemmed from pondering how I was trying to balance my time between my projects (making tunes/writing articles/building polysonic and Positive Link) and earning money (DJing/events work/web & print design) and why, somehow, it didn’t add up in either direction… I’m not making enough time for my projects or earning more than enough to get by.

I realised that I was charging for the actual core time to do things, not allowing for any overheads like phonecalls, email and small updates/changes. When I took these into account on average I was working for £5.80 an hour! Stuff that.

Rest assured, I have the confidence and bank balance to say no to work below my new minimum wage i’ve set myself – knowing that this is another important lesson on the road to one miiiiiiiiiiilllllion dollars!

Look out Ladies!!!

I’m more gorgeous than ever! Hahahaha 8-)

Well not yet… but I have started doing exercise things again… dum dum duuuuuuh!

Just about got the motivation back to normal levels, working effectively but not back to my usual turbo-ninja-turtle-pace, although it won’t be long now.

Found a new way to keep my focus and energy levels high while I work…

1) Insert CD, work on task X while CD plays.
2) Exercise / eat healthy snack whilst taking a break from working.
3) Work out your next priority, review incoming emails etc

…and repeat until bedtime or social activity!

I’d forgotten how taking some exercise can kick start the grey matter and get me going again.

NOTE TO SELF: eat good food / get some exercise / go to sleep!

Best laid plans n all that… went a bit wrong, made extra special by having sampled 24hr drinking and only getting 4hrs sleep… anyway. (more…)

bleurgh

Such a great word, describes well my current mood and why I’ve not posted properly for a while.

See… I’m finding everything a lot more of a struggle than normal: Post holiday blues (ie sun-withdrawal) combined with cold weather, a crap looking bank account and penny being a long way away for a long time makes Luke a dull boy.

Don’t get me wrong I had a great holiday, I gained a painting, custom fitted suit and got most my chrimbo shopping done already – yes me… shopped before christmas eve!!! (I’m going to try and complete my shopping in November, just to see what its like!)

I also had a good think about “the plan”, I even know how I’m going to do it… I just cant be arsed right now.

So I’m taking it, bit by bit and hopefully I can get my mojo back.

I realised that the state of the flat isn’t conducive to work, or inspiration so I’ve hung the new painting and re-hung my favourite original artwork in the lounge (its a charcoal + ink sketch by a friend of mine), I’ve cleared up a load of clutter, chucked some stuff out and got 2 loads ready… 1 for a car boot, 1 for the tip (needs proper disposal).

Made good inroads to re-building polysonic, which is long overdue, sorry peeps, mixes online soon I promise.

Started on the business plan for Positive Link (my next big project, you wait.. its gonna make me rich… rich I tell you!!!) as I have a couple of good investment prospects sniffing around.

You know what? I feel better now I’ve rattled all this out.

Is blogging journalism?

I think it’s becoming a part of Journalism… like eye-witness accounts or editorials… but for me, today, its therapy!

3 random facts

Feeling very random today, my brain is working hard on a project so no intelligent post… just some random facts for y’all!

1) I once spent a week working at Abbotsbury Swannery, the most useful (pppffftt) thing I learned from this time is how to spot the difference between male (cobb) and female (pen) swans.

2) For some reason, unknown to me, the index toe on my left foot is significantly longer than any of my other toes.

3) I’ve never been to France. No real reason, just never have… strangely, French is the foreign language I’m most fluent in and got a grade B at GCSE. (the others being German, Spanish and Esperanto…)

Leave a comment and give 3 random facts most people don’t know about you….
