Maison Rocked!!

Last night was such a good night, Jon Carter, Justin Robertson and the genius that is Tom Middelton @ Maison

I’d be looking forward to seeing Tom play for ages, even with high expectations… it was still better than I’d imagined! Fantastic eclectic set that kept me dancin’ till I could dance no more… then I danced a little bit more anyway. :D

Tom Middleton

Cool people, cool tunes… it doesn’t get much better than that.

EDIT: forgot to add, in case you didn’t guess… pics in the gallery!

twists n turns…

weird how life is always wandering around the place!

I for one am of the opinion, change happens… good, bad, ugly… accept it and move on.

Spoke to an old friend yesterday who doesn’t see life that way.

She’s always convinced that everything bad happens and its either not her fault or there is nothing she can do about it. She went on to say how I was so lucky that I knew what I wanted to do and seemed able to make it happen.

Fundamentally we’re not that different (apart from the gender thing!)… similar age, background, education….

I’ve not written much the 2nd half of this week, been busy doing studio stuff… 2 projects on the go: the RnB thing and a remix.

Now I could see this as:

“more production that won’t go anywhere, so why bother, I mean getting a record out is never going to happen…”

or

“I’ve not had anything out yet properly, been close, just need to keep trying and improving every time… one day I’ll make my millions!”

which one is “lucky”? ;)

When speaking to a client last week, there was a point where they said that they couldn’t get motivated to do things… yes, we all struggle with that sometimes, but the trick is just to keep doing it, the motivation will build.

Think about a time when you’ve been at work or something, nothing much happening then BANG a phone call or some event and suddenly you’re having a good day!

Change can happen in an instant.

My friends, you can do anything you want to… make your own luck.

Mystic Mog!

Some friends of mine were having a discussion on astrology yesterday, now I have an open mind about the possibility it has some merit… hmmm its the age old question really isnt it…

Do you believe in something until its disproved?

or not believe in something until its proved?

Both lead you down the garden paths in some way…

Whats to say that the gravitational forces (which would be different) exerted upon a developing feotus didn’t affect how its brain developed?

or What proof is there that gravity has any affect on our personality?

personally, I’m of the opinion it probably doesn’t and using the moon/tides argument is bogus.

One thing I’m pretty sure of is that these astrologers/con artists can’t tell us anything about future events (lets not even go down the schrodingers cat argument about “future outcomes”) other than general wishy washy predictions which I believe I could make up to be just as accurate…

so to test this theory, we posted 2 horoscopes online, 1 I made up and 1 “real” one.

People were then asked to read both, and at the end of the day decide which one was “more accurate”…

86% voted for mine :D :D :D

Not very scientific but it made me laugh!

Just call me “Grand Master Mystic Dubyah” from now on please…

a book???

alukeonlife.com as a book???? surely not….

well, kinda.

See, for those of you that know my goals in life… one of my goals is to publish a book.

It occured to me last night, that I’ve not written any for ages and that I could write it in tiny chunks here. A bit each couple of days, using its own category so anyone could read the whole thing in one go.

Then I think, maybe I’m diversifying again, stay on target!!!

So what do you reckon? Fancy seeing a story from the inner working of my mind??? 8)
